The year 2016 is about to end and one thing is surely true, you have accumulated so much treasures throughout the year.  In fact you have messed up your  wardrobe with overflowing clothes you have bought both brand new and second hand ukay-ukay.  One more year of  doing this practice, and you literally will have the following scenario:  overflowing closet, a messed up shoe rack with layers of old and new shoes and sandals, and higher electricity bill because you have kept both old and new appliances.

Behind all these is the fact that you do not use  most of these things anymore.  Many of the clothes you still keep do not fit you anymore.  Many of of the appliances you have are not use or worst, they are not working anymore.

The flow of grace

The problem is, we keep on accumulating more than what we need.  We neglect the importance of the so called “flow of grace”.  As it is called, it certainly did not indicate merely accumulating things.  It suggests that we let them flow in order to provide space for new ones.

Scripture mentioned about principles or teachings that is important and relevant to this.   Luke 6:38 says give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

On the other hand, Proverbs 11:24-25 says, One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.

It is also about sharing what we have

Trying to withhold the flow of grace will only make someone suffer.  Cluttered wardrobe and shoe rack were just some indications that we do not let the grace we receive flow.  We forget the biblical message that the more you give, the more you will receive.  There is really nothing to worry about being broke because of giving.  You will not suffer for sharing some of the things you have. You only provide more space for the new things which are about to come.

So what’s the secret of a clean wardrobe?

Share some things you do not use!   And since Christmas is past approaching, feel free to share some of the clothes or the things you have.  A garage sale is also a good idea if you don’t want to just give them for free.  If you can have more space for more blessings to come, that means you have unraveled the puzzling secrets of your capsule wardrobe.
